Another Wonder Walk Story In The Works

I have another 20 panel story being written and painted for Wapiti Music Festival, my third WonderWalk. It’s called The Other Side Of The Bookshelf and it’s about two kids from opposite sides of library hill who just adore books. Only 5 panels started so I’m only 25% happy.

The Traveller On Small Town Social

The Traveller by Brina Schenk - storytelling in 20 pages

I’m going to be telling my story over the next week or so on Small Town Social if anyone is interested in reading it. The Traveller was displayed at Wapiti Music Festival and it will be out again during the Chautauqua festival in Fernie, BC. There are the others who are not in Fernie and/or are not attending the festivals and I want there to be an opportunity for everyone to read it. The layout was done fairly quickly, and professional photos are in my possible future, but the story is still there and I hope you enjoy.

There is also a wonderful article about The Traveller in The Free Press. Read the article here. I should probably grab a copy to send to my mum.

The Traveller Is Getting Ready For Wapiti Music Festival

Last year I deputed Shy Girl at Wapiti Music Festival and this year I’m introducing a whole new story titled The Traveller. It’s a simple 20 page illustrated story with few words. I’m hoping the imagery will be enough to grab people’s attention. I’m know I’m in love with the story and I can’t wait to show it in Annex Park on August 11 and 12th.

Shy Girl’s Debut At Wapiti Music Festival 2016

Shy Girl - Tacki's Cure - Debut at Wapiti Music Festival

How time flies! Just last year I was developing this little character who was shy and curious and full of wonder. Now this character is in her own story and I’m showing a part of it to the people at Wapiti Music Festival in my home town of Fernie. I’ve been busy! Here’s the link to Wapiti Music Festival for more information : wapitimusicfestival.com

Thanks to Sandra Boer for pushing me (a gentle push) to show my story in her first WonderWalk. It’s a work in progress so I’d love to hear what you thought of the story and the WonderWalk. We had such a good time making it, we would love to show you more. You can take this easy survey to let us know if you’d like to see more.

A HUGE shout out to Bob (sorry, Bob, I don’t know your last name) for making the beautiful displays and putting so much time and care in to making the WonderWalk the success that I know it will be.

Since this is my website, I can brag a little. At Wapiti Music Festival you’ll be able to see my work beyond the WonderWalk. I have submitted a painting to the ArtExpo and I also did some illustrative work for the RDEK’s compost pilot program, which will be displayed at their tent. I’m everywhere! Plus, I’ll be dancing in the crowd…so come say hi!
